“We don’t want to extend this when we do not need to, but there’s another team that’s going to play a great deal of desperation because their season is on the line, therefore we know . Tough building to acquire in, and we have got to go in and try and do this job.”
“As far as I enjoyed my very first Game 7, I’d like to forego it maybe this series,” Evander Kane said. “Anytime you get an chance to shut out a group, you would like to do it”
Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche know it is do or die tonight, and they expect that home ice advantage will give them the push they want to force a game 7, although the risk that Joe Pavelski returns is looming.
“He is an all-star and he is among the best players in their team,” Gabriel Landeskog explained. “I really don’t know exactly how old he is — he’s north of 30 and he’s putting up points and generating every year, year in and year out. I mean, he is an elite player. He’s their captain, and he means a lot. You just saw how they rallied against the Golden Knights in Game 7. So I am sure there will be a boost for them.
“However, for us, it does not change anything. We prepared going into the series like he was planning to perform , and to tell the truth, we don’t care who is in or who is out for them.”
