Bastian Schweinsteiger has announced his retirement.
The 35-year-old scored 24 goals for Germany later making his debut as a 19-year-old at 2004 and played with 121 times, and was part of the squad that won the World Cup in 2014.
For Bayern Munich, Schweinsteiger and 500 occasions played at club level, where he won eight Bundesliga names, seven Cup titles and the Champions League at 2013.
The midfielder moved from Bayern Munich to Manchester United at 2015, prior to registering for Chicago Fire in 2017, at which he won the FA Cup and the League Cup.
In a statement on his Twitter accounts, Schweinsteiger said:Dear fans, the time has now come, and I will be completing my busy career at the end of this season.
I would like to thank both my groups FC Bayern, Manchester United, Chicago Fire and the German national team.
You made this incredible time potential for me! And of course, I would love to remind my family for their service along with my wife Ana Ivanovic.
Saying goodbye as a active player makes me feel a little nostalgic, but I am also looking forward to the exciting challenges that await me soon.
I shall remain faithful to soccer. Many thanks for the time we spent with them, I shall always have a special place for you in my heart! Yours, Basti.
