Typhoon Faxai has delayed the death for the Rugby World Cup in Japan of australia, though England are expected to arrive for the championship.
The Wallabies were expected to arrive in Tokyo on Monday morning but were delayed by 16 hours following their first flight had been cancelled due to heavy rain and strong winds in the area.
Several subway and railway operators suspended services as the typhoon made landfall in Chiba, a suburb of the Japanese capital.
England began their journey on Sunday and so are anticipated to arrive without delay afternoon in Tokyo, with missed the worst of the storm.
Government spokesman Yoshihide Suga confirmed one person was killed and dozens injured by the typhoon, which caused over 900,000 energy failures.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has warned of flooding and mudslides after the heavy rain.
World Cup organisers have planned for the possibility of having to relocate teams or perhaps to move games to various places.
The stadiums against the USA in Kobe and Tonga in Sapporo, for the first two games of England, have roofs and Jones says that the team will train indoors on turf if needed.
“It is going to influence the World Cup, there’s no doubt about it,” said England head coach Eddie Jones after Friday’s 37-0 win over Italy.
“You have just got to ride , be elastic and figure out how it is possible to manage the situation.
“Once the typhoon comes, you just can not go outside. It is basically a lock-down. It can vary between being very violent to mild.
“The issue is that can’t go outside but we have got ideas of what we do whether a typhoon ceased us training outdoors. We’ll instruct on artificial turf inside.”
England have two weeks to acclimatise to the conditions in Asia before they face Tonga in their opening game on September 22.
They will then confront the United States on September 26 before playing Argentina in Tokyo using their final group stage game against France, on October 5 in Yokohama on October 12.
